Virgin's Bower

Western Virgin's Bower
(Clematis ligusticifolia)

This is a tough woody vine, which clings and climbs over bushes and trees.

In the spring it has many clusters of small white blossoms, each about a third to a half inch across.

When the seeds develop in late summer the plant is covered with cottony plumes, often almost hiding whatever shrub is supporting the vine.

It is also called "White Clematis".
