Thimbleberry

Thimbleberry
(Rubus parviflorus)

These shrubs grow at quite high altitudes. They can be found in patches, on the hillsides and in shady areas along the canyon roads. The leaves are very large -- about 6 inches across. The branches have no thorns. The flowers look like white wild roses.

When the fruits mature they look somewhat similar to small red raspberries.
