Miterwort

Miterwort
(Mitella stauropetala)

The miterwort plant grows at high elevations in our canyons, in very damp shady places. A wiry stem holding many tiny flowers rises about 12 inches high, from a clump of smooth dark green basal leaves.

The foliage seen in the photo at right belongs to other nearby plants. The photo below shows the leaves of a miterwort plant, along with a small flower stalk.
