Gumweed
(Grindelia squarrosa)
This plant is common along roadsides and in waste places. It grows 1 to 2 feet tall. It is easy to recognize by the bracts of the flower heads. They are covered with a sticky substance, and are curled away from the head. (The plant is also called "Curlycup".)
