Giant Helleborine

Giant Helleborine
(Epipactis gigantea)

This plant is found in wet shady places. It grows about three feet tall, and usually has several flowers on the stalk. Each blossom is an inch or more across.

The plant grows in many areas of the state, but is not easily noticed because of the drab color of the flowers.
