Jack Sagers

John Charles Sagers returned home to his Heavenly Father Nov. 19, 2003, after injuries sustained in a farming accident. He was born Dec. 2, 1933, in St. John, Utah, to Pharis Sagers and Gladys Faith Newman Sagers. He married Margene Orr Deglebeck on June 18, 1993. Marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on June 23, 1994.

Jackie was a very kind, angelic man. He was fun-loving, never took things too seriously and made friends easily. He never spoke an unkind word toward anyone. Jackie was a devoted husband to Margene; she completed his life together with her children. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Jackie is survived by his wife, Margene; brother and sisters, Vance (Betty) Sagers, Nancy (Lee) Budvarson, Valene (Sam) Curry; step-children, Brad (Vickie) Hansen, Lyle (Shelly) Hansen, Eric (Maribeth) Hansen, Pamela Jensen, Pam Wanlass, Monty Deglebeck; 17 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

In loving memory, we would like to say how much we love and miss him. He has touched our lives in so many ways. We have such a deep respect for him and the kind gentle way he chose to live life. We will miss his smile, unique personality and ways he always made us smile. He was an exemplary husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He will be forever missed and eternally loved.

A viewing was held on Sunday, Nov. 23, 2003, in the Tate Mortuary from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services were completed Monday, Nov. 24, 2003, in the St. John Chapel, St. John, Utah, at 1 p.m. Interment was in the St. John Cemetery.
