John Charles Sagers returned home to his Heavenly Father
Nov. 19, 2003, after injuries sustained in a farming accident.
He was born Dec. 2, 1933, in St. John, Utah, to Pharis Sagers
and Gladys Faith Newman Sagers. He married Margene Orr Deglebeck
on June 18, 1993. Marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple
on June 23, 1994.
Jackie was a very kind, angelic man. He was fun-loving, never
took things too seriously and made friends easily. He never spoke
an unkind word toward anyone. Jackie was a devoted husband to
Margene; she completed his life together with her children.
He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, nieces
and nephews. He is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter
Jackie is survived by his wife, Margene; brother and sisters,
Vance (Betty) Sagers, Nancy (Lee) Budvarson, Valene (Sam) Curry;
step-children, Brad (Vickie) Hansen, Lyle (Shelly) Hansen,
Eric (Maribeth) Hansen, Pamela Jensen, Pam Wanlass, Monty Deglebeck;
17 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and
nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
In loving memory, we would like to say how much we love and miss
him. He has touched our lives in so many ways. We have such a deep
respect for him and the kind gentle way he chose to live life.
We will miss his smile, unique personality and ways he always made
us smile. He was an exemplary husband, father, grandfather,
brother, uncle and friend. He will be forever missed and eternally
A viewing was held on Sunday, Nov. 23, 2003, in the Tate Mortuary
from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services were completed Monday, Nov. 24, 2003,
in the St. John Chapel, St. John, Utah, at 1 p.m. Interment was in
the St. John Cemetery.
