Open Pit Copper Mine -- 2002

We want to continue the close ties and friendships that were formed in the Copperfield/Bingham Canyon area. We have formed a charitable non-profit organization which is dedicated to preserving the memories of some of the ordinary people who lived in this extra-ordinary place.

This year we begin our Canyon Memories and Monument Project. Our goal is to raise money and obtain oral and written histories from former canyon residents. Many accounts of life in Bingham Canyon have been obtained, but there are many others that have not been included.

We want to hear from you. There are many fascinating stories waiting to be told. We can arrange for someone to come and visit with you, and listen to you tell about the things you remember.

In the future we hope to have a permanent monument built to commemorate the towns of Bingham Canyon and the wonderful people who lived there.
